 Prescribing Drugs without NDC Code

Dear PCM Client,

An issue with prescribing/refilling drugs that have been stored without an NDC number has been reported.

Recently, other similar issues related to NDC numbers were reported. As a result, we added a warning (see image below) to alert users when the system encounters an NDC code mismatch.

Today, with further research, we found another issue (which may not be that common), of drugs being stored with a blank NDC number. We are currently working on an update to fix this scenario.

Update expected to be released 12/23/14- 12/24/14, PCM Ver. 5.5.1264.

We will update all versions affected as soon as we can.

If you get a similar message as the one below, please click on Cancel and start a new prescription instead of proceeding with the refill.

  There was a Mismatch

This issue does not occur when using the RX buttonbutton to Start New Prescription option.

The warning message above may occur after prescribing from the Favorites list, if the drug was initially stored as a "custom Rx", and does NOT have an NDC code stored in the database.

The issue may also occur when checking off drugs from the Meds List that have been previously prescribed and are missing the NDC code, as shown in these images.
