ATTENTION: 837I CALIFORNIA MEDICAID (MEDI-CAL) PROVIDERS
Optum will be implementing a direct connection to 837I CALIFORNIA MEDICAID (MEDI-CAL). Unfortunately, before we can being testing re-enrollment will be required for this direct connection and IMMEDIATE provider action is required. All existing providers should have already completed their re-enrollment by September 25, 2014. If you have NOT completed your re-enrollment, please do so as soon as possible. Enrollment approval will take 3 to 4 weeks. Once providers have been linked to Optum’s submitter id, we can then begin testing process with payer.
***You may continue to submit claims as you do today. Providers may be linked to 2 clearinghouses at one time.***
IMPORTANT FUTURE NOTE: Once Optum has been approved to submit claims the payer id for this payer will change from 57106 to MDCAL. In addition, the payer name will also be changing based on the type of claim the provider is submitting. Provider must submit the appropriate payer name or it will disrupt their claim submission. Optum will send out another notification update regarding payer id and payer name changes at a later date.
