Noridian Dates for EDI Processes

Jurisdiction E Implementation EDI Enrollment and Claim Notice

For All JE Trading Partners

 

As we approach the Medicare Jurisdiction E (JE) implementation, Noridian will continue to share relevant and critical information.

 

Noridian, in collaboration with Palmetto GBA and CMS, has established the following dates to begin the transfer process of EDI Enrollment and EDI Claims Processing from Palmetto GBA to Noridian.

Medicare Part A

EDI Enrollment

Last day providers and vendors are able to submit Medicare Part A EDI Enrollment paperwork/correspondence to Palmetto GBA.

8/10/13 - 8/25/13

EDI Enrollment

Noridian will collect and hold all Medicare Part A EDI Enrollment additions and changes. (This includes changes received from Palmetto.)

8/21/13

EDI Claims Processing

Last day existing submitters are able to submit EDI claims to Palmetto GBA (5:00 p.m. ET / 2:00 p.m. PT cutoff).

8/21/13

EDI Claims Processing

Last day Noridian Early Boarding submitters are able to submit EDI claims to Noridian with existing Contractor IDs (1:00 p.m. CT / 11:00 a.m. PT cutoff).

8/22/13 – ongoing

EDI Claims Processing

All submitters must submit EDI Claims to Noridian’s gateway utilizing the NEW JE Contractor IDs as stated below.

EDI Enrollment

Noridian will begin processing Medicare Part A EDI Enrollment additions and changes.

EDI Claims Processing

Last day Noridian Early Boarding submitters are able to submit EDI claims to Noridian with existing Contractor IDs (1:00 p.m. CT / 11:00 a.m. PT cutoff).

9/12/13 – ongoing

EDI Enrollment

Noridian will begin processing Medicare Part B EDI Enrollment additions and changes.

 

 

EDI Enrollment Points of Interest

·     EDI customers currently enrolled with Palmetto GBA will not be affected by the EDI Enrollment stop-work period. There will have no disruption during their transition to Noridian. Only new EDI enrollment and EDI enrollment changes will not be processed during this time period.

·    As of 8/26/13 for Part A and 9/16/13 for Part B, all EDI enrollments will need to be completed using Noridian’s Total OnBoarding web application at https://noridian.totalonboarding.com. Further information and training material for Total OnBoarding can be located at http://www.edissweb.com/cgp/registration/totalonboarding.html.

 

EDI Claims Processing Points of Interest

·    Noridian will begin collecting Medicare Part A claims containing the NEW JE Contractor IDs on 8/22/13. Noridian will be placing the correct date of receipt on all claims; however Medicare Part A claims submitted from 8/22 – 8/26 will not appear in the Medicare payment system until 8/27/13.

·    Noridian will begin collecting Medicare Part B claims containing the NEW JE Contractor IDs on 9/12/13. Noridian will be placing the correct date of receipt on all claims; however Medicare Part B claims submitted from 9/12 – 9/16 will not appear in the Medicare payment system until 9/17/13. 

·    Claims submitted to Noridian on or after 8/22 (Medicare Part A) and 9/12 (Medicare Part B) that do not contain the New JE Contractor IDs will be rejected and not processed.  

 


Jurisdiction E EDI Contractor Number/ID Change Notice

For All JE Trading Partners

 

At implementation dates, in accordance with CMS directive, all JE Trading Partners will be required to change the contractor number/ID in their 837 EDI claim files. A list of the new contractor IDs can found at http://www.edissweb.com/cgp/news/jurisdictione.html

 

The new contractor ID will need to be present in the following locations within your claim files:

 

·   ISA08

·   GS03

·   1000B (NM109) NM1*40

·   2010BB (NM109) NM1*PR

 

The new contractor Number/ID will be effective for Medicare Part A on August 26, 2013 and Medicare Part B on September 16, 2013.

 

Note: 1) failure to change these at cutover time will result in rejected claim files. 2) If these values are changed prior to cutover, it will result in rejected claim files.
