With the latest release of PCM, we have added many exciting new features to assist your practice in providing quality medical care to your patients. Here are just a few of them that you may find helpful.

Patient Reminder Changes:

The patient reminder is now easier to enter and captures more information. You will also be able to send reminder letters and print envelopes based on Short Descriptions that have been entered. For example, if you have set up a patient reminder for patients who need to be reminded of an annual checkup, you can now use patient reminders to bulk print the letters for all patients who need to be notified this month.

Management Report:

This feature allows you to print reports based on information stored in data tables. For example, a Cardiologist who installs pacemakers can create a data table to store the name, model number, and serial number for the pacemakers for each patient. If a recall is issued later for a specific model or serial number, a report can quickly be created that lists all patients who have that model pacemaker. Another example may be you want to see all the patients who are of a certain age and have a BMI over 26.

Treatment Plan:

Another new feature is the Treatment Plan entry. This allows you to preset treatment plans for specific diagnosis. You can preprogram the treatment plan to Post charges to Onstaff Intellect, create a requisition for specific lab tests or other requisitions, or you can schedule a referral. Once the defaults are set up, the treatment plan is selected with a single check for the patient; items can be unchecked if they are not needed for a particular patient.

E-Prescribing:

E-Prescribing is now available. This will greatly improve Providers efficiency in prescribing and refilling prescriptions. The refill requests will come directly to the doctor’s task manager and can be handled from there. In the near future, there will also be options to check formularies for alternative drugs for the patient.

Patient Portal:

Another exciting time-saving new feature is the Patient Portal. This highly customizable feature allows your patients to enter things like their demographic or insurance information and their past medical history. It will allow you to share documents with the patients and message back and forth. Future versions will allow patients to log on and request appointments. Currently custom data tables can be created in PCM and set to allow the patient access through the portal to complete the information. Other data tables can be set for the patient to see information in the table but not to edit it in any way.

For more information on these features, call Prime Clinical and we will be happy to discuss the specifics of how these features will assist you in patient care.
