5010 Transition Update

To date, 97% of all of our clients have successfully transitioned to the ASC X12 version 5010 for electronic claims, patient eligibility inquiries, referrals, enrollment, coordination of benefits (COB), and remittance advices.

As  the last Compliance Enforcement Deadline approaches, June 30, 2012 at 11:59 p.m., we encourage clients that have not transitioned to do so now. Electronic claims that do not use Version 5010 standards cannot be paid. For information on the transition requirements, click here. Alternately, to access the information, visit www.primeclinical.com, click on the [Newsletters & Email Notices] button on the right, select Client Email Notices, then 2011, and then 10/11/2011 ANSI 5010 Transition Instructions.

3 ICD-10 Facts. And More.

FACT:  ICD-10 has over 65,000 codes.

FACT:  It is important to prepare now for the ICD-10 and Version 5010 transition. Providers NEED to develop an implementation strategy that includes an assessment of the impact on your organization, a detailed timeline, and budget.

FACT: ICD-10 codes must be used for all hospital inpatient procedures performed on or after October 1, 2013. Claims for services provided on or after this date must use ICD-10 codes for medical diagnosis and inpatient procedures. CPT codes will continue to be used for outpatient services. Claims with ICD-9 codes for services provided on or after October 1, 2013, cannot be paid.
