Speed Up Our Service to You

Whenever communicating with any of our PCS Team members, please remember to always have your Client ID available. If you and your staff choose to send an email to Support@PrimeClinical.com, or add references via Intellect or PCM, it is important for us to know who in your office needs to be contacted. As a reminder, please include your Client ID, contact person, and contact email or phone.

Appointment Reminders

Sending text messages TO patients reminding them of their appointment is a function that Intellect has available and, with clients using this option more and more, we need to remind you that while Intellect can send the reminders with a message more than 160 characters in length, the plans which patients have for text messaging may not allow for more than 160 characters in a text message. Accordingly, please consider your message length when sending appointment reminders via text to your patients.

GEMs are Not the Right Way
to Figure Out ICD-10 Codes

Carl Natale of ICD10 Watch recently stated, "In case you're temped to skip ICD-10 training and rely on general equivalency mapping (GEMs) to convert ICD-9 codes, let me offer you some valuable advice: Don't." He then backs up his advice with an article by Michelle A. Leppert (CPC, senior managing editor for JustCoding.com) where she discusses why GEMs should only be used as a starting point, not an ending point. In short, she observes, "GEMs will get you to the correct neighborhood, but they won't get you to the front door."

ICD-10 Offers a Rare Strategic

Opportunity to Align Business Processes

Rich Averill, senior VP, 3M Clinical and Economic Research, says, "The transition to ICD-10 provides a rare opportunity for hospitals to review their clinical and business processes, beginning with hospital leadership and moving on down the line, department by department."

It's not only a matter of compliance with regulatory requirements, but a time to strategically align with the increased accuracy, efficiency and improved patient care that ICD-10 can provide.
