The following Release Notes include the features and modifications made in the current update. PCS suggests you provide each department a copy of the Release Notes so they are aware of the changes which may affect their department.

 

In order to be aware of ALL changes in the software, please read all release notes from the version you are currently on through to the version to which you are updating.  

 

Update may include items labeled ATTENTION which will IMMEDIATELY affect Billing and other daily tasks. Please be sure to notify all departments which will be affected.

MODIFICATION Charges --►Generic Encounter -- <Appeal Documentation File>

As of this version, the <Appeal Documentation File> field on the Generic Encounter screen allows adding more than one appeals file if the files are importing from PCM. All files are saved to the EB_ATTACHMENT folder.

MODIFICATION Billing --►Tele Com -- Institutional Claims -- Operating Provider

For Institutional claims, there are certain payers now requiring that the 2310B  has operating provider NM1-72 for procedure codes 10000 - 69999. When the operating provider is missing, an error is returned and appears on the 277 or human-readable report as:

 

2300 LOOP 2310B is missing. It is required when at least one service line on a claim has procedure code SV202-02 in Range '10000-'69990' (SV202-01 = 'HC')

 

To accommodate payer requirements, programming changes were made to the OnStaff/Intellect program and a <Rendering/Operating> field was added to BOTH the Utility--►Insurance screen and the Utility--►Procedure screen in order for operating provider NM1-72 to be in the 2310B loop. See the <Rendering/Operating> field information in Utility NEW FIELD Utility --►Insurance -- <Rendering/Operating> below for both screens.

NEW FIELD Utility --►Insurance -- <Rendering/Operating>

A <Rendering/Operating> field was added to this screen in order to meet the payer requirements detailed above in Billing MODIFICATION Billing --►Tele Com -- Institutional Claims -- Operating Provider:

 

 

The options for this field are Null (blank), O, and R, with Null being the default:

 

 

  NULL uses the standard set up for ANSI 837I which sends the rendering provider NM1-71

  O sends the operating provider NM1-72

  R sends the rendering provider NM1-71

 

To send the operating provider, the <Rendering/Operating> field on BOTH the Utility--►Insurance screen AND the Utility--►Procedure screen must be set to 'O.'

Because certain payers now require the operating provider for procedure codes 10000 - 69999 when making institutional claims, a <Rendering/Operating> field was added to this screen:

 

 

The options for this field are Null (blank), R, and O, with 'blank' being the default:

FIX Schedule --►Appointment --►Wait List

In prior software versions, when using the Reschedule option on the Wait List to move an appointment from the original date to another date and the template included the same slot,  there was an issue when Reschedule was clicked:  the original appointment disappeared from the schedule and was not added in the new time slot. This issue has been corrected in this update.

OSI Version reported 12/07/2023 &  <

In a prior version when clients sent their eligibility requests to the Inovalon clearing house they experienced an issue with the 271 data not updating the Eligibility History Tab. The problem has been corrected in this release.
