OnSTAFF 2000
ASSIGNING AND SETTING SECURITY LEVELS
There are four principal On-Staff menus; Main Menu , Utility Menu, Set up Menu, and External Options Menu . Illustrations of these menus are found on the noted pages and contain the menu name (for example Main Menu) and available options (for example New Patient). In addition to the four principal On-Staff menus, a listing for miscellaneous Hidden Menus .
The highest security level is 99. With a level of 99, the user will have access to all areas of On-Staff including the options of the Set Up Menu (crucial to how your system performs) and the ability to add, modify or delete throughout On-Staff.
From any menu, the security level defaults for the options of add, modify, delete and view are set as follows: ADD-50, MODIFY-40, DELETE-60, VIEW-10.
You may modify security level defaults dependent upon your particular needs. Recommended security levels to start with are Administrators-99, Billers-60, Front Desk/Reception-40. Remember, after setting up a user in On-Staff, you MUST log on using their password to verify they have access to all the necessary menu options to perform their daily tasks and NOT to unnecessary ones.
Keep in mind, if a user is not assigned a security level high enough to access a menu option, any subsequent menu options will also not be accessible. For example, the Main Menu contains a Utility option. If this option is chosen, the subsequent displayed menu options will be Set Up, Messages, Category, Provider, Insurance, Diagnosis, Procedure, Facility, Referring, Business and Maintenance. If you set the Utility Menu security level to 60 (Utility --►Set Up --►Menus --►Programs --►Modify <Command Name> Utility --►MU <Security Level> field = 60), those users with a security level lower than 60 will not have a Utility option from the Main Menu. Therefore, they cannot access the Utility Menu options (for example Set Up or Messages) whether or not those options' security levels are 50 or below.
Your system comes with the following security level defaults. Please note, these are defaults only. Dependent on each users need for access, adjust the security level of the user ( Utility --►Set Up --►Security --►Login User <Security Level> field) or the security level of the option (Utility --►Set Up --►Menus --►Programs --►Modify <Command Name>, <Security Level> field.
