When Lab services are a part of any billable transaction there may be one of two types. Each type requires a slightly different set up depending upon whether the service is: No Purchased Services - the office bills for the drawing of the specimen or Purchased Service, Outside Lab Billing - the office sends the patient to the lab for everything, the lab bills the office, and the office bills the insurance.

1 - The Utility --►Procedure <Status> must be set to L.

 

 

2 - The Utility --►Procedure <Cost>.

3. The Utility --►Provider <CLIA>

 

 

Utility --►Insurance

 

4. The Utility --►Insurance <Print CLIA (Y/N)>

 

 

Utility --►Facility

 

5. – Create a Utility --►Facility for the lab where the specimen will be sent.

 

 

Charges 

6. - The Charges --►Encounter <Referred Lab> must match the Utility --►Facility <Facility Code> for the lab where the specimen will be sent.

 

 

 

7. - Charges --►Charge <Facility> must match the Utility --►Facility <Facility Code> for the lab where the specimen will be sent.
