Utility/Procedure/MEDICATION/Add

 

This option allows for adding to and maintenance of the set up for Medications dispensed or prescribed by your practice.  The Medication feature enables you to track patient’s prescriptions/refills, to print prescriptions, and to track medications dispensed by your office without pulling the patient’s chart.  As these medications are posted, a Medication Ledger is created for the patient.  Selecting the Medication option from the Procedure Menu will display the following:

 

MEDICATION FILE

Add           Modify             View             Delete           Print              Exit

 

 

Menu Options:

 

Add                 Add new medications.

Modify            Modify existing medications.

View                View existing medications.

Delete             Delete existing medications.

Exit                 Returns you to the Procedure Menu.

 

To add a Medication, select the Add option.  On-Staff will display the following:

 

 

Medication Code:      Enter up to 6 characters of letters or numbers selected for this medication and press [Enter].

 

NOTE:   During Session I, your trainer discussed the use of  Speed Codes (Medication Codes) on your SuperBill.  It is recommended to add your SuperBill charges to On-Staff first.

 

Description:                Enter the description for this medication.  This entry will print on the prescription at Medication.

 

Generic Name:           If so desired, enter the generic name for this medication.  This field is informational only and will not print anywhere.

 

Usual Dosage:            Enter the usual dosage for this medication.  At the time of posting this medication, the Usual Dosage will default into the /Charges <Dos> (dosage) field allowing the user to accept or change this value.  This entry will print on the prescription at Dosage and may be modified through /Ledger/Medication.

 

Refill Allowed:           Enter the number of refills allowed for this medication.  At the time of posting this medication, the Refill Allowed will default into the /Charges <Ref> (refill) field allowing the user to accept or change this value.  This entry will print on the prescription at Refill and may be modified through /Ledger/Medication.

 

Charge:                       Enter the charge amount for this medication.  This is an informational field only and will not print anywhere.

 

Cost:                           Enter your cost for this medication.  This is an informational field only and will not print anywhere.

 

Comment:                   Enter the standard comment about this medication, i.e., Do not take on empty stomach.  This Comment will print on the prescription at Remark.  At the time of posting this medicate, the Comment will NOT default into the /Charges <Rm> (remark) field allowing the user to enter an additional remark if so desired.  When a remark was added at the time of posting, the /Charge remark will print first followed by /Medication comment.
