Ledger/MEDICATION
Once a prescription has been added for a patient, it may be viewed, modified, refilled, printed, or deleted from Main Menu/Ledger/Medication. The purpose of this ledger is to provide an accounting of all medications and refills entered into the system for the patient.
Patient’s Account
Number: Enter the patient’s name or account number and press [Enter].
From Date: Press [Enter] past this field to view all medication ledger entries or enter a date to view all entries from that date forward.
The Medication Ledger screen will appear. The top box on this screen (containing the patient and insurance information) is the same as the Accounting and Open Item Ledgers, however the lower portion of this screen is different. The cursor will be in the C (command) column.
D Placing the cursor adjacent to a medication and pressing D will delete that item. Only delete the medication if it was entered in error.
M Placing the cursor adjacent to a medication and pressing M will allow you to modify the Dosage, Refill, Quantity, and Remark field entries. Pressing [Enter] from the remark field will return the cursor to the C (command) column.
T Placing the cursor adjacent to a medication and pressing T will print the prescription for that medication.
A Placing the cursor adjacent to a medication to be refilled and pressing A will display the following fields:
Date: The default value is the clinic date. Press [Enter]. This field will print on the prescription at Date.
Description: Defaults to the /Utility/Procedure /Medication <Description> of the original prescription. Press [Enter]. This entry will print on the prescription at Medication.
Dosage: Defaults to the /Charges/Charge /Medication <Dos> of the original prescription. Press [Enter] to accept this default or change appropriately. This will print on the prescription at Dosage.
Refill: Defaults to the /Charges/Charge/Medication <Ref> of the original prescription. Press [Enter] to accept this default or change appropriately. This will print on the prescription at Refill.
Quantity: Defaults to the /Charges/Charge/Medication <Qty> of the original prescription. Press [Enter] to accept this default or change appropriately. This will print on the prescription at Quantity.
Remark: Enter any additional remark as appropriate. Press [Enter].
