PREP NOTES
The Prep Note feature, for pre-determined appointment types will copy instructions into the comment area of the patient’s appointment screen at the time the appointment is made to remind the scheduler to give the instructions to the patient or ask for the requested information. For instance, the appointment type for an abdominal ultrasound could by AUX. The pre-set instructions could be no food or drink from Midnight on. Or, the appointment type for a new patient (NP) could have the instructions: What type of insurance, do they need/have auth? Bringing own records? Referred by?, etc. To use the Prep Note feature, the following software requirements must be met:
/Utility/Set Up/Parameter/Prep Notes
This field must be set to Y.
/Utility/Messages/Message
The appointment types requiring prep notes must be defined here. The <Message Code> field must match the field <Apointment Type> in /Utility/Set Up/Appointment/Appointment Type for each desired appointment type prep note set up.
